Samaritans Purse recently offered a workshop for church leaders in the region of Choluteca, Honduras.

Prescription for Hope offers workshops to church leaders of various backgrounds to teach them how to develop positive, nondiscriminatory, culturally relevant approaches to HIV/AIDS in their communities.

Members of the Casa Hogar team attended this 3 day workshop/conference presented by Samaritans Purse. During this workshop we were presented with: numerous facts and statistics about HIV-AIDS, how to work within a support group, and the impact HIV-AIDS has on children and orphans.

Current Statistics:
*350 people die worldwide every hour due to the HIV-AIDS virus.
*14,000 people worldwide are infected every day.
* 5 million people are infected per year. 66,000 of those infected are from Honduras.
